SBS Expands Accessibility with New Daily News Wraps

SBS has taken an incredible step towards creating more inclusive and accessible media. Included in July’s big news, they launched daily news reports creatively written for English learners and people with disability. This new initiative features a quick five-minute news wrap to help you keep up with everything in the most bite-sized, understandable form possible. These updates are intended to engage and better serve audiences that often have more difficulty accessing conventional news media.

In addition to the five-minute wrap, SBS offers the “News in English” podcast, which allows listeners to stay informed while on the go. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. This allows you to enjoy news content on your own schedule, whenever and wherever you choose!

In the past several months, SBS has found an incredible demand for business and finance news. To remedy this, they started a ten-minute a day wrap named “On the Money.” This segment, hosted by SBS Finance Editor Ricardo Gonçalves, focuses on key developments in the financial world, providing listeners with insights and updates relevant to their economic interests.

In August, SBS introduced the “On the Money” segment. It strengthens their impressive existing offering and demonstrates their commitment to delivering expansive, public-interest news coverage. SBS provides both broad news and niche finance-focused coverage to serve the varied interests of its readers. This method allows all of us to understand the big picture and the key shifts happening in our world.

SBS has produced a special home for its daily news podcasts at sbs.com.au/news/listen. Now, users can jump right in and discover everything audio has to offer. This resource is intended to be a one-stop shop for anyone looking for high-quality, informative, entertaining, non-fiction news programming.
