A Berlin-based platform called Synthflow is doing just that—revolutionizing artificial intelligence with no-code platforms. The company’s software makes it incredibly easy for any enterprise to build and deploy their own AI voice customer service agents on white-label terms. Hakob Astabatsyan, Albert Astabatsyan, and Sassun Mirzakhan-Saky are co-founders of Synthflow, which was started in early 2023. To start their efforts, they began playing with OpenAI’s ChatGPT API. The team’s goal was to streamline the implementation of voice tech into enterprise spaces.
By early 2024, the company released its MVP. With its clear focus on the public’s green space, it caught on like wildfire in the most crowded of markets. By the end of that year, Synthflow released an enterprise-grade version of its technology. This rather breathtaking development has pulled in over 1,000 customers and handled over 45 million calls so far. This remarkable growth is a strong testament to the ever-growing need for human-like, powerful voice AI solutions in the customer service vertical.
At Hakob Astabatsyan, co-founder and CEO of Synthflow, it’s expected for this AI technology to evolve quickly. He stated, “AI is moving so fast, and sometimes things happen faster than you would expect.” That feeling captures exactly what leaders are looking for, and the need to get out in front of a rapidly evolving space.
One of the secrets to the company’s success has been its strong focus on compliance and integration. Additionally, Synthflow’s voice agents are HIPAA and GDPR compliant, so you can rest assured they fulfill strict regulatory expectations. Additionally, these agents can seamlessly connect with over 200 other enterprise platforms, creating a robust ecosystem for businesses seeking reliable customer service solutions.
The simple but smart idea, in a single year, brought Synthflow spectacular growth, allowing the company’s operations now to be 15 times larger. The customer engagement platform has proven to have a highly valuable offering, as seen with their impressive 90%+ gross retention across enterprise customers. This robust performance demonstrates that Synthflow is delivering on the urgent needs of its clients. As a successful result, it has put itself on the map as a leader extending the voice AI industry.
Astabatsyan provided attendees with a look inside the company’s approach to market, including how they see their customers and product roadmap. To us, it’s super obvious we’re at this stage where, I would say, whatever, I kind of call it a post product-market-fit era, where we have this really clear understanding of who our customer is. We have a pretty clear idea what’s our product roadmap, and where we want to be in the next three to five years,” he said.
Yet, paradoxically, the difficulty in creating this kind of real-time voice tech has escaped the eyes of many founders. Astabatsyan explained the challenges faced during the initial stages: “We realized, oh my god, voice is really complicated, right? To actually make AI speak in real time like we do, having this 400 milliseconds latency, and handling interruptions, it turned out to be like such a complicated task.”
The announcement comes on the heels of Synthflow closing a $20 million Series A funding round. Accel led the investment, with Atlantic Labs and SGH participating. This new financial support will expand the company’s capacity. It will encourage amazing ongoing innovation in the voice tech space.
Luca Bocchio as Synthflow’s technical architect, Luca has been instrumental in Synthflow’s development squad. He applauded the company’s progressive vision integrating natural language voice technology with existing enterprise software. He remarked, “This team has really strong views since the get-go about creating more depth with the technology and extensive integrations across CRMs, across tools enterprises may use to really provide enterprise-grade compliance.”
