SBS Expands Accessibility with New Daily News Podcasts

To address these distinct audiences, we’ve recently launched new offerings tailored specifically for each audience. Listen to our five minute weekly new wrap and plunge into a much deeper weekly finance, biz newscast!

The daily five-minute news wrap provides concise summaries of current events, making it easier for English learners and people with disabilities to stay informed. This program is further evidence of SBS’s focus on inclusivity and making sure important information is available to as many New Yorkers as possible. We’re available in all of the common podcast apps – Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Spotify, etc. This allows consumers to interact with the news where they already spend most of their time.

So in addition to our daily news wrap, SBS has produced a dedicated podcast focused entirely on these issues called “On The Money.” This smart, clean program gives you a ten-minute capsule of the most important finance and business news every weekday. Ricardo Gonçalves, Finance Editor of SBS, hosts On The Money. Ultimately, the goal of this show is making complicated and intimidating financial topics a little less intimidating and more approachable for listeners.

Listeners can now conveniently catch up with the daily news wrap or “On The Money” on the SBS website. Or, you can listen to them on all the big podcast platforms. This development caters not only to those seeking brief news updates but to individuals interested in understanding financial trends and insights. By distributing these materials, SBS further demonstrates its commitment to continuing to produce high-quality, compelling outreach materials needs of all audiences.

Even better, the podcasts’ availability coincides with the increasing popularity of listening to news via audio formats. An increasing number of people are using podcasts to get informed. These initiatives position SBS well as a leader in providing content that matters and really connects with its listeners.
