St Kilda Dismisses Rumored $25 Million Bid for Harley Reid

St Kilda Football Club has firmly denied the existence of a purported $25 million, 12-year bid for young talent Harley Reid from West Coast. Fremantle coach Ross Lyon labelled the reports as “rubbish”, re-iterating that the club has no interest in Reid at present.

That speculation around Reid, considered one of the top prospects available, has turned heads in recent days. At a press conference afterwards, Lyon stressed that he was not angry over the speculation. In no uncertain terms, he declared them ridiculous and irrelevant to his world.

I engage every day in conversations with my players, and those conversations are confidential. Truthfully, nothing about that makes me mad,” said Lyon while speaking to media. He doubled down on his commitment to the team’s short-term success. He’s all done talking about what the team might do to acquire new players.

Lyon further emphasized the lack of credibility in the reported bid, saying, “I’m not here for the laundry list of half-baked stories. There’s not much credibility to it, to be honest.” “What happens behind closed doors with management is not his concern,” he told us, “and all focus should be on the games St Kilda are playing.

Lyon rejected the offer for Reid and acknowledged that the club is in the position to bring in other talent. Capacity within the program—he was quick to clarify that there are no immediate plans for Reid.

“It’s not why we call this presser — that’s where you’re heading again,” he stated, indicating a desire to keep discussions centered on the team’s present objectives rather than speculative narratives.

With St Kilda’s recent winning streak and victories upcoming, the club management should stay strong and hold onto their current lineup instead of making new trades. Lyon expressed confidence in his team’s young players, highlighting the progress of individuals such as Windhager, who he noted has been performing well.
