Ghislaine Maxwell, the former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was interviewed by Deputy Attorney-General Todd Blanche at a Florida courthouse over two days last month. Claiming to have not witnessed any sexually inappropriate interactions with Donald Trump—not during the interviews nor ever in her life. As recently disclosed by the Justice Department, these interviews. The interviews arrive just as Maxwell is finishing out her 20-year prison sentence for facilitating Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.
Maxwell, convicted in 2021 for luring underage girls to be sexually abused by Epstein, fervently declared Trump’s innocence. In a remarkable series of statements, she expressed her thoughts with astonishing clarity and conviction. She mentioned that she had never seen Trump get a massage. In addition to all this, she was dead certain that he had never, at any time, done anything wrong. The new age socialite sought to exonerate herself in the public eye after facing accusations about her behavior during the trial. She wanted to distance herself from Epstein’s abuse.
Details of the Interviews
During our interviews with Blanche, Maxwell said something that blew our minds. She clarified that she’d only flown with Trump on a little over two dozen times on Epstein’s private jet. She remembered first meeting with Trump in 1990, when her father, Robert Maxwell, owned the New York Daily News. She admitted to having visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, numerous times, including at times unaccompanied. She added, reminding herself that she hadn’t seen Trump since the mid-2000s.
Maxwell’s comments were intended to create a flattering portrait of Trump as a man of class. She told us, “I never saw the president in any compromising position at any time. The president was never inappropriate with anybody. I found him, on all the occasions I was with him, a gentleman in every sense of that term.”
In her initial answering of questions, Maxwell even tried to defend Trump’s record in dealing with women. While she agreed that he mingled with younger women, she didn’t consider this sort of conduct to become criminal.
“I did see from when I met him, he was involved or — involved or friends with or whatever, however you want to characterise it, with women who were in their 20s.” – Ghislaine Maxwell
Allegations and Distancing from Epstein
During her entire interview, Ghislaine Maxwell repeatedly brushed over any claims that she played a role in Epstein’s illegal operations. Furthermore, she reiterated under oath that she had never seen Trump with anyone or partaking in sexual activities that would warrant her testimony. Her claims follow a wave of recent criticism focused on Epstein’s connections with many influential people.
Maxwell answered with a resounding “no” when asked whether she ever heard Epstein or anyone else suggest that Trump behaved improperly around women. Her response put that notion to rest.
“Absolutely never, in any context.” – Ghislaine Maxwell
Maxwell commented extensively on Prince Andrew’s behalf. She challenged charges brought by the settlement recipient Virginia Giuffre, which alleged she was compensated to maintain an association with him. She called these claims “nonsense” and stuck up for Andrew in the face of sexual harassment accusations.
Current Situation and Future Prospects
Following her interviews with Blanche, Maxwell was moved from a low-security federal prison in Florida. She has been sentenced to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas. The move came as part of the ongoing adjustments regarding her incarceration since being convicted for her role in Epstein’s crimes.
And just as Maxwell’s past associations with Epstein and her recent conviction have made her a controversial figure, so too has her new project. She’s still claiming her innocence against charges of complicity in sexual misconduct with powerful men, including, among others, former president Trump and Prince Andrew.
Maxwell admitted that Epstein had a preference for younger women. She was absolutely able to recognize those patterns but she said that they were not criminal behavior.
“And then the slide to, you know, or younger-looking women. But I never considered that this would encompass criminal behaviour.” – Ghislaine Maxwell
Her press releases read like she’s trying to do everything possible to absolve herself of the stigma attached to Epstein’s legacy. Meanwhile, she’s actively working to manage her own honest legal issues.
