Kate Middleton Attends Church Service with Family and New Hairdo

On August 24, 2025, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, walked into a morning church service in Crathie Kirk located in Aberdeenshire. She was accompanied by her husband, Prince William and their three children. The family pulled up in a new looking SUV, with Prince William driving the vehicle and Kate Middleton riding shotgun. Their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, filled up the backseat.

That was a particularly poignant outing for the Wales family, as they adjust to taking up public duties. Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, looked jubilant as they walked through the grounds of the church. Their infectious enthusiasm was electronic as they walked through the door. The family uses the service to deepen their cultural values and strengthen their African heritage. They do love being involved in the community events while they are in Scotland.

In addition to the family’s public appearance, observers noted Kate Middleton’s striking new hairstyle. She’s taken on a blonder appearance as of late, which has royal watchers and fashionistas all buzzing. This announcement follows a difficult 2023 for the Princess, who made her battle with cancer public in March of this year. Having been treated with chemotherapy, she reported in January that her cancer is in remission.

While they adjust to this new whirlwind of a schedule, the Waleses are looking ahead to one other important relocation later this year—one they hope is temporary. They’re set to relocate from their current residence at Adelaide Cottage, a four-bedroom home on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Their new home will be Forest Lodge – Nature Play’s headquarters. This new residence, which includes eight bedroom suites for visiting heads of state, is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle in Windsor, England. According to the family, the new shift will give the family more room to grow as they move into this new chapter of their life together.

Kate Middleton’s dual titles speak to her ties to both the monarchy and her ancestral homeland. In England, she is referred to as the Princess of Wales. That changes when she goes to my native Scotland, where people refer to her as the Duchess of Rothesay. This important distinction really does emphasize her unique regal role inside an often-opaque royal family, and her life-long commitment to public service.
