Perhaps more than ever, fans can look forward to an even more immersive experience with in-depth coverage beginning earlier in the day.

Creative director for fashion events and television, and one of the world’s top celebrity stylists, Elliot Garnaut, will host the Blue Carpet Confessionals. Alongside him is AFL legend Isaac Smith. The red carpet show will follow at 7:30 pm AEST, airing on Seven, 7mate, and 7plus Sport.

As excitement mounts for the admiring accolade, the ceremony assigns a wide assortment of football’s brightest stars. Notable contenders for the Brownlow Medal this year include Nick Daicos, Bailey Smith, Noah Anderson, Jordan Dawson, and Matt Rowell. This year’s count is shaping up to be the most competitive yet, so the stakes are high.

Abbey Holmes, popular host and field commentator for 7AFL, will be emceeing the glamorous red carpet ceremony. She will have plenty of help from a dynamic supporting cast led by rookie Emma Freedman and veterans Dale Thomas and Matthew Richardson. This crew is bound to bring an electric and hilarious energy to the whole experience.

Channel 7’s goal is to show fans the most raw experience possible in the days leading up to the count. VP of Production, Gary O’Keefe, spoke to the network’s dedication to delivering each and every minute of the action to fans.

“From the first interview on the Blue Carpet Confessionals couch, through to what we expect to be a nail-biting final vote count, Australians can catch every moment of the 2025 Brownlow Medal live, free and only on Seven and 7plus Sport.” – Gary O’Keefe

Kirsty Bradmore explained in more detail why they changed to the new format.

“We want it to feel like you’ve pulled up a chair next to your favourite players and their partners on the night. It’s relaxed, cheeky and guaranteed to deliver moments that fans will be talking about long after the Brownlow.” – Kirsty Bradmore

The Brownlow Medal count is one of the real highlights of the AFL calendar. It’s held during the most football-intensive week of the year, culminating in the NFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 27. Special live coverage of the Grand Final on Channel 7 will ensure fans are connected like never before. Keep an eye out for it on both Seven and 7plus!
