The actor attended the 95th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood, California, on March 12, 2023, where he showcased his commitment to both his craft and his family.
In an August 2024 interview with People, Farrell opened up about his eldest son, James, who was born with Angelman syndrome. The actor, visibly emotional, implored everyone to be nice to his son. He argued that we need to demonstrate more dignity and appreciation for people with disabilities.

Farrell is a doting father to his heir James, born on 12 September 2003. He is the proud father of his second son, Henry Tadeusz Farrell born on October 7th 2009. Henry’s mother, by the way, is actress and singer Alicja Bachleda. In recent months, both sons have been by their father’s side at funeral events, showcasing the incredible bond the two families share.

In September 2024, he officially started his philanthropic work by launching The Colin Farrell Foundation. Its mission is to empower, support, and educate those impacted by rare neuro-genetic conditions such as Angelman syndrome.
