In an August 2024 interview with People, Farrell opened up about his eldest son, James, who was born with Angelman syndrome. The actor, visibly emotional, implored everyone to be nice to his son. He argued that we need to demonstrate more dignity and appreciation for people with disabilities.

“I want the world to be kind to James. … I want the world to treat him with kindness and respect.” – Colin Farrell

Farrell is a doting father to his heir James, born on 12 September 2003. He is the proud father of his second son, Henry Tadeusz Farrell born on October 7th 2009.
