Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli Separate After 28 Years of Marriage

Actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, defendants in the college admissions scandal, are living apart. This decision will bring a dramatic shift in their almost 28-year marriage. A representative for the couple has now told us the two are “taking a break” from their relationship. This action is taken six years after their original participation in the infamous college admissions bribery scandal.

The couple, who tied the knot in November 1997, share two daughters: Olivia Jade Giannulli, 26, and Isabella Rose Giannulli, 27. Both parents have been in the public eye since they pled guilty to conspiracy charges stemming from the scandal in 2020. Though Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison, and Giannulli served a five-month sentence.

The fallout from the scandal has certainly changed their family dynamic. Giannulli publicly expressed regret for his actions, stating, “I take full responsibility for the harm that my actions caused my daughters, my wife and others.” His admission of blame is a testament to the human toll of their former bad decisions.

Loughlin, known for her role as Aunt Becky on the beloved television series “Full House,” has opened up about her life following the scandal. In an exclusive interview with First For Women, her first since the incident, she talks about the hurdles she’s learning to jump. “Every day we’re met with different obstacles, but it’s all in how you approach things,” she said, emphasizing resilience in the face of adversity.

The then couple’s separation begs the question of what would happen to them and their children in the wake of such an action. This represents a big moment for Loughlin and Giannulli individually. They are still figuring out what life looks like post-scandal, a moment that radically changed their public image and private lives.

“I made an awful decision. I allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass.” – Lori Loughlin

Today, as they celebrate their newfound freedom, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli face a world forever changed by their past misdeeds. They are absolutely committed to themselves being the best people they can be and the best parents to their young girls. Their separation serves to greatly amplify the enduring consequences of their actions. Most importantly, it shines a light on the journey toward personal accountability and healing.
