Ferrari Unveils Ambitious Plans for Electric Future with Elettrica

Major Ferrari advances in the company’s ongoing electrification strategy. This achievement is the culmination of 15 years of research, driven by its innovative, high-performance Formula 1 technology. The Italian automaker is making big moves to diversify its product offerings and move further into the electric vehicle space. They’ve introduced the fully electric Ferrari Elettrica, a new entry model that helps welcome and broaden appeal to a new buyer base.

Ferrari’s move to hybrid technology started with the super-exclusive LaFerrari supercar, which was introduced in 2013. This model represented the brand’s dedication to being at the forefront of technology, bringing Formula 1 technology into consumer cars. Ferrari is changing in impressive ways with its first electric car. To provide a more immersive driving experience to drivers, they can select five power levels from the steering panels.

The company’s financial outlook indicates it still has plenty of room to achieve its lofty targets. Ferrari is counting on net revenues of €9 billion by 2030. They’re projecting an EBITDA of at least €3.6 billion, with soaring margins of 40%! Antonio Picca Piccon, Ferrari’s chief financial officer, announced that the U.S. just recently sealed the deal on 15% tariffs on European car imports. He underscored that this decision has removed “one of the big factors of uncertainty” for the company.

Ferrari continues to demonstrate its commitment to electrification with its next steps. By 2030 the automaker plans for 40% of its product portfolio to be hybrids and 20% electric. The ambitious automaker shoots for the stars! They’re promising to bring to market an incredible average of four new models a year from 2023-2030. This strategy does indeed firmly plant Ferrari’s flag as the luxury electric vehicle makers. It sets them up to be more attractive to a broader base.

The Ferrari Elettrica will be equipped with cutting-edge technology that promises to improve performance and sustainability. It will use accelerometers mounted on the rear axle to identify and capture powertrain vibrations, resulting in a truly immersive driving experience. The chassis and body shell will be made from 75% recycled aluminum, making their environmental footprint small. Through this initiative, they will save about 6.7 tons of carbon dioxide emissions for each vehicle manufactured.
