Hulu’s New Legal Drama All’s Fair Set to Premiere This November

Hulu is about to embark on its first big push into original programming with a brand-new legal drama, All’s Fair. This series will explore this complicated web as told from the perspective of divorce lawyers. Produced by prolific showrunner Ryan Murphy, the limited series is set to drop on the streaming service November 4. Our cast is filled with such amazing talent! Take in performances from heavy hitters such as Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash-Betts, Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close and Matthew Noszka.

The plot revolves around a guild of murderous women divorce lawyers. Against all odds, they decisively break from their male-dominated home firm to start their own practice. Or consider this transition — one of the biggest transitions — which reflects their professional ambitions. It also dives deep into their private lives, particularly through Kardashian’s character, Allura Grant. Allura’s going through her own divorce proceedings and getting legal advice from Carrington Lane, her lawyer, played by Sarah Paulson.

A Star-Studded Cast

The series features an all-star line-up of superb talent. Kim Kardashian joins the cast, embodying the character of Allura Grant, a woman who is currently struggling with the effects of her divorce.

Sarah Paulson really shines as Carrington Lane, the attorney defending Allura’s estranged husband. Niecy Nash-Betts, who stars opposite the two actresses, rounds out the trio with her own genuine enthusiasm for the project. She loves that the show normalizes women’s emotional experiences in relationships.

“There’s a lot of drama. There’s amazing fashion and a lot of heart.” – Niecy Nash-Betts

Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Glenn Close and Matthew Noszka round out the main cast. Their respective performances are sure to add layers and arcs of complexity to the series.

Themes and Style

The show aims to tackle important themes about relationships. Judith Light, yet another heavyweight connected to the series, emphasized its timeliness.

“I think it’s gonna bring up a lot of stuff for women in their relationships and [things like], do they want to stay in that relationship?” – Judith Light

… we have this unique visual style and artistry within “All’s Fair”— that’s not really what I’m seeing get rewarded. In describing the project, Light promised that viewers should be prepared for a provocative aesthetic experience.

“And also you’re gonna be looking at the style of the show — not just the clothes, which are spectacular, but the lighting, the attention to detail, the music, the kind of electricity that is gonna come off the screen that you’re gonna feel.” – Judith Light

The Creative Force Behind the Series

Ryan Murphy’s engagement with “All’s Fair” has created a palpable buzz among the cast and audience as well. The award-winning producer and filmmaker has a gift for telling visually rich stories that tug at your heartstrings and inspire you to action.

Simpson said she was thrilled to work with Murphy. As she explains, “You never turn down a call from Ryan Murphy, so of course you say yes.” Her statement sets the tone for the lofty, glamorous expectations that have come to define the series.

Joe Baken, one of the major forces behind the production, stressed the show’s two-fold mission. It addresses heavy issues but balances that by providing fun, entertainment.

“We’re talking about real things, but also it’s just fun, and I think people need fun right now more than ever.” – Joe Baken
