Prince Harry and King Charles III reportedly came face-to-face for the first time in London on Wednesday. It was their first in-person meeting in almost a year. It’s no surprise to anyone that tensions within the royal family are extremely high. Prince Harry was the first to admit to many of these problems in his candid memoir, “Spare”. The last time the two were seen together was during King Charles III’s coronation at Westminster Abbey in May 2024.
He helped honor exceptional children with complex medical needs at the Well Child Awards, where he interacted with young people and injured veterans. On 10 September 2025, he toured the Center for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College in London. This trip would prove to be a central chapter in his movement.
Prince Harry’s relationship with his father, as well as brother Prince William, has been described as “toxic” and been on the rocks since at least 2020. He’s been candid about the divisions within his family. In his memoir, he describes Prince William as his “closest beloved companion—and arch nemesis.” Prince Harry and Prince William were last seen publicly together at the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022. That weekend was a huge milestone for the brothers.
Despite his father’s recent health challenges, including a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Prince Harry’s participation in King Charles III’s coronation was notably absent. In the wake of Charles’ diagnosis, Prince Harry flew to London in February 2024 to stand by his father’s side. It was their last in-person meeting prior to this week.
He marked the passing of his grandmother, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, privately while on his most recent trip to the UK. To honor her memory, he visited Windsor Castle on Monday. Though he hasn’t publicly reconciled with Prince William on this trip, the gap between the brothers is still very much on display.
