A New Twist in Time with Freakier Friday Trailer Release

Now the highly awaited sequel Freakier Friday has plenty of fans abuzz after the release of its brand new trailer. This movie gives a new spin on the age-old body-swap concept. In great soap opera tradition, though, Marriage shows an artful mastery of entangled relationships by introducing a four-way swap. Set to hit theaters on August 8, the movie features Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their iconic roles as Anna and Tess.

In this latest installment, Anna and Tess body switch with one another! They body swap with their daughters, Harper and Sophie! This film’s personal story takes us through Anna’s transformation and journey in finding her new role and home. She warmly accepts the new role of mothering her teenage daughter Harper, played by Julia Butters. Anna, meanwhile, is preparing to be wed to Eric, portrayed by Manny Jacinto. His daughter provides thrilling, hilarious new dimensions to their family life.

The official synopsis further teases the slapstick reverie that awaits. It hints that “lightning could actually strike twice,” promising the hit-or-miss magic that results from all of the body-swapping hijinks. Harper’s character is especially important since her presence inspires Anna and guides her on their journey.

Joining Lohan and Curtis in the film are Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Chad Michael Murray, Vanessa Bayer, and Mark Harmon. Each character helps guide the film’s poignant exploration of love, family, and self-discovery.

The new trailer gives us a look at some of the ridiculous and tender scenes audiences can expect to see. One of the standout quotes from Harper encapsulates the film’s tone:

“I, Anna, take you, Eric, a man whose daughter is a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent.” – Harper

Our “Freakier Friday” takes its inspiration directly from the classic children’s novel Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers, which has inspired several film adaptations over the decades. Judging from the new film, it sounds like the perfect combination of nostalgia and modernity will have to connect with old fans and kids today, equally.

As the release date approaches, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be another entertaining chapter in this iconic franchise.
