Todd and Julie Chrisley, stars of the wildly successful, multi-Emmy-nominated reality television series “Chrisley Knows Best,” are preparing to return to TV. Their return coincides with the fact that all three received recent pardons from former President Donald Trump. The married couple were convicted of committing fraud and tax evasion. Their sentences were dramatically commuted, clearing a path for them to pick up where they’d left off before in the entertainment industry.
Chrisley, a father of seven, has two children, Kyle and Lindsie Chrisley, from his first marriage. With his current wife, Julie Chrisley, he has five children: Chase, Savannah, Grayson, Chloe, and Kyle’s daughter, Chloe, who lives with them. Their reality show on USA Network ran for almost 10 years before it wrapped up—appropriately enough—in March 2023.
In June 2022, reality star Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison plus 16 months of probation. Julie Chrisley In November, the reality TV star was sentenced to seven years in prison, followed by 16 months of probation. Both parents had more than $20 million in financial penalties imposed on them, including a restitution payment of $17.8 million. Earlier this year in 2024, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals took a bold step. They ruled that Julie’s case be returned to the lower court for resentencing.
On May 27, one phone call from Trump turned everything upside-down for the couple. Savannah Daughter The very first news Savannah his daughter got was that her parents had been pardoned.
“I kind of had gotten to a place where I had lost hope, and just felt like nothing was going in my favor,” – Savannah Chrisley.
Despite their conviction, the Chrisleys are still holding out hope for a return to showbiz. Savannah teased their new docuseries, which will be premiering later this year on Lifetime.
“We have a new show coming out on Lifetime, and it will document all of these things. And we’re excited. We literally could not have done it. It’s all God and President Trump at this point,” – Savannah Chrisley.
The family recently debuted their new docuseries on Animal Planet. They have plans to produce a reality television based project that follows their journey post incarceration. Their son Chase was the main focus of a spinoff series called “Growing Up Chrisley,” which featured Savannah Chrisley.
The Chrisleys’ legal woes went far beyond the reality TV couple. Their accountant, Peter Tarantino, was convicted on several counts and was found responsible for the fraudulent conspiracy. Though the family unit was shaken, the bond stayed intact through the encouragement and love they have for one another during a dark time.
The family though, is focused on moving forward and making a comeback, and returning to the public’s good graces. Their resilience and belief in the importance of telling their story comes through clearly to their legions of fans.
