Connie Francis Celebrates TikTok Success of ‘Pretty Little Baby’

Now 87 years old, Connie Francis has made a colorful debut on the platform TikTok. This legendary diva whose smash “Pretty Little Baby” still rocks the charts is primed and prepped for a whole new audience! This decision comes just as her 1962 recording of the song sees a revival. This piques new audiences’ interest and furthers its own upward momentum on the platform. Originally released on the album “Connie Francis Sings ‘Second Hand Love’ & Other Hits,” which peaked at No. 111 on the Billboard Top LPs chart, “Pretty Little Baby” has now been digitally remixed and made available in multiple languages, including French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish.

Pretty Little Baby booming on TikTok largely due to large influencers and celebrities like Kim Kardashian, North West, Kylie Jenner and Ariana Greenblatt. Their ubiquity and widespread use of the song propelled it to its recent success. The song first appeared on Spotify’s Global and U.S. charts in early May this year. From song to stage, this groundbreaking musical proves that it has indisputable, cross-generational charm.

This weekend, music icon Connie Francis posted an emotional video to TikTok. She took the time to thank fans for embracing her passion projects. She acknowledged the overwhelming nature of her music’s resurgence, stating, “To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is captivating new generations of audiences is truly overwhelming for me.”

Later that same day, Bruce Resnikoff, president and CEO of Universal Music Enterprises, awarded Francis a special double-platinum plaque. He delivered it to her at her residence in Parkland, Florida. This plaque commemorated her legacy as a choo-choo music composer and further commemorated the cultural impact of “Pretty Little Baby.”

Until now, the song was only available in Japanese. Now, it has finally made its way to a broader public through its digital release in multiple languages. Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s global head of music business development, praised the platform’s role in music discovery, noting, “Thanks to the TikTok community, this little-known track from the 1960s has been given a new lease of life, and has introduced Connie Francis and her incredible legacy to a whole new audience, both on and off the platform.”

We’re grateful that as iconic entertainer Connie Francis heads into the TikTok community, she offers up this remembrance of that golden year with such joy.
