Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Amid Health Concerns

Dolly Parton, the beloved country music icon, has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated residency, “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” due to health concerns. The residency was set to run from December 4th through the December 13th engagement at The Colosseum at Caesars. It would’ve lined up perfectly with the National Finals Rodeo and would’ve been Parton’s first longer-term engagement in Las Vegas in 32 years.

Parton expressed her excitement about returning to Las Vegas, stating, “I haven’t worked Vegas in years and I’ve always loved singing there.” Her fans knew to expect a celebration of all of her best music. Classics like “9 to 5,” “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “Coat of Many Colors” were guaranteed to bring down the house.

In her usual heartfelt style on social media, Parton broke the news to her fans about her health concerns. In her announcement she shared that her doctors have been recommending invasive procedures, which have prompted the decision to postpone the shows.

“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” – Dolly Parton

Parton addressed her fans with humor, jokingly referencing her health check-up: “It must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” And while she had a very light-hearted demeanor, she was clear about how grave her circumstances were.

“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” – Dolly Parton

Freida Parton, Dolly’s sister, posted on Facebook in support and requested prayers for her sister. In her post, she affectionately referred to Dolly as “my sissy Dolly.” She added that fans should have Dolly on their minds as she faces this difficult personal crisis.

Parton has been an outspoken supporter of prayer’s ability to spread hope. In her beautiful message, she invited fans to be “prayer warriors” with her. She reassured them about her commitment to continue performing, saying, “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”

“But I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding,” – Dolly Parton

The postponement of Parton’s residency comes as a disappointment to many fans who were looking forward to experiencing her legendary performances live.

“I’m looking so forward to the shows in The Colosseum at Caesars and I hope you are as well. See you there!” – Dolly Parton
