This week’s performances had the truly invigorating theme of “One-Hit Wonders Night.” This year, contestants dazzled the audience with routines inspired by iconic songs written by artists who achieved widespread recognition but failed to achieve long-term success in the music industry. Celebrities from Danielle Fishel to Jordan Chiles and Dylan Efron jumped at the chance to be part of it. They were set on winning over the judges and the television audience.
Our competitors set lofty goals, but their greatest aspiration was to receive the highest score possible—the elusive perfect 10 from our panel of judges. The stakes were even higher after last week’s debut, which aired with no one going home. But as the show continued on, there was no denying that the heat was starting to get turned up on competitors and their loved ones.
At the end of the evening, two contestants faced elimination: Baron Davis and Corey Feldman. We loved seeing former NBA star Baron Davis team up with professional dancer Britt Stewart. Unfortunately for their strong work on the dance floor, they did not have the votes to beat their way to another week in the competition. Likewise, actor Corey Feldman, hoofing it up with Jenna Johnson, was not a crowd favorite.
