The 2025 U.S. Open Tennis Championship begins Sunday, August 24. As always, it’ll be held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Prize Money Breakdown
The 2025 U.S. Open will offer substantial financial rewards for participants across various categories. Each men’s and women’s singles winner receives $5 million. That’s an amazing carrot for every competitor doggedly pursuing the elusive triple crown glory! Doubles winners will get $1 million and the finalists $500,000. To further incentivize success and improvement, the payout for those making it as far as the semifinal stage is $250,000 and quarterfinalists will receive $125,000.
Besides the singles events, the tournament’s doubles competition is just as lucrative. Doubles Draw Finalists would receive $2.5 million and semifinalists $1.26 million and quarterfinalists $660,000. Tournament Schedule and Notable Matchups
The women’s final will be contested on Saturday, September 6, with the men’s final on Sunday afternoon, September 7. The tournament will only play matches at the two largest stadiums going forward: Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadiums. That way, fans are assured to experience the excitement in the biggest arenas possible!
During this year’s tournament, look out for American stars such as Coco Gauff, Pegula, and Amanda Anisimova. All three of them are seeded in the lower half of the tournament. Taylor Fritz, the runner-up at last year’s U.S. Open, will be running on the second half of the draw this year. First-round winner of the Junior Championships, Rebeka Masarova will take on defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in the afternoon session on Ashe.

It’s safe to say that fans are already taking the plunge into all of the excitement that tournament week has to offer. This exciting fan week officially started on Monday, August 18! Qualifying matches and mixed doubles tournaments have been going on on all 22 match courts at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. On top of that, practice rounds for both men’s and women’s singles are going as well.
This fan week allows fans to see some of the most talented developing artists. It provides players an opportunity to rest up and recharge for the games ahead. The mood in the air is electric with possibility! Fans crowd around facilities, desperately hoping to catch sight of their favorite players as they warm up for one of tennis’s most historic tournaments.
