Grocery Store Hours on the Fourth of July

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, food shopping and food preparation needs are top-of-mind for many residents. Many grocery chains have already released their hours for the holiday, so shoppers can make their plans ahead of time. Trader Joe’s, Target, Costco and Publix all have differing hours for Friday, July 4.

Trader Joe’s will open its doors at 8 a.m. on Friday and close early that same day at 5 p.m. This new schedule will better serve our customers and still provide our staff with the opportunity to enjoy the holiday. Weather permitting, holiday shoppers can use specially expanded morning hours to get their day-to-day needs ahead of time or plan for upcoming holiday celebrations.

Target will welcome customers from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday. Please note that store hours may differ by location. Customers are advised to consult local listings for exact show times! This longer schedule gives shoppers an option for last minute shopping after work or at night.

Closures and Regular Hours

Though many retailers are scaling back their hours on the holiday, others are closing their doors. Costco is heading out early, closing its doors on July 4. This new policy gives employees a floating holiday to take the day off to observe this important national holiday. Plans will have to change for shoppers hoping to visit Costco.

Publix will be open as normal on July 4, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The grocery chain assured residents of its presence through this week’s flyers reading, “Yes, we’re open Friday, July 4.” This ensures that residents can take care of any last-minute shopping needs for their holiday celebrations without a hitch.

Planning Ahead

As we get closer to the Fourth of July weekend, consumers are reminded to make their shopping trips count. Hours are different at each individual store. To get the most up-to-date information, be sure to consult local listings and advertisements. Trader Joe’s 9pm early closing time would have an effect of causing people to focus their shopping trips on earlier in the day.

At the same time, Target’s extended hours offer a terrific counterpoint and opportunity for everyone who can shop later in the day. By keeping its hours consistent, Publix gives a dependably open choice to families in search of deliver on the holiday.
