Irwin Family Rallies Behind Robert Ahead of Dancing With The Stars Finale

Robert Irwin’s family continues to support him in his time of crisis. They are supporting him as he prepares for the season 34 finale of ‘Dancing With The Stars,’” said Michele Hartwig. Robert, 21, and his professional partner, Witney Carson, will take the stage live on ABC on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, vying for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

Robert and Witney will be up against some stiff, but stellar competition from other finalists including Alix Earle, Dylan Efron, Elaine Hendrix and Jordan Chiles. With increasing competition for the award, Robert is in a very strong position. Indeed, few observers are betting against him, or think he has anything but a terrific chance to win.

“Robert, 10 years ago you cheered for me as Derek and I took the @dancingwiththestars mirrorball home. Tomorrow, it’s your turn,” shared his sister Bindi Irwin on social media. While she was very visibly proud of and excited for Robert’s performance, she reminded everyone about the importance of this magical moment.

Bindi posted a supportive Instagram message stating, “No matter what, always know how proud I am of you and how lucky I feel to be your sister.” Their mother, Terri Irwin, posted a beautiful tribute on Instagram Reel. It included personal home video footage of Robert with her and his late father, the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.

In addition to the family support, Alfonso Ribeiro, who has competed on the show, spoke highly of Robert’s chances: “I think right now, it is Robert’s to lose. I think the only one that can challenge him, in my honest opinion, is Alix [Earle].”

The Irwin family has been to the set of “Dancing With The Stars” several times, and it’s clear by their camaraderie that they’re all supporting Robert. Bindi posted a throwback photo, which she said, “perfectly captured this incredible backstage moment in 2015. In the picture, you’ll find Derek Hough, Terri Irwin, and a much younger Robert all together.

As Robert prepares to take the stage with Witney Carson, he reflects on his journey: “Robert, when you dance for the final time tomorrow, I will be holding a lifetime of love in my heart.” Yet this sentiment belies the emotional burden of this moment for Robert, his family and all impacted by incarceration.
