Kate Princess of Wales Returns to Royal Duties with a Fresh Look

We’ve seen the return of Kate’s royal duties after a summer hiatus. She revealed a beautiful new hairdo that has become an immediate and overwhelming talking point for the public. At 43, she’s decided to pursue extended, luxurious hair. Her revamped style includes a much lighter blonde shade than her most recent public outing in July. The princess was last seen at the Wimbledon men’s and women’s finals prior to her short sabbatical from royal duties.

Nearly three years later, on September 4, 2025, Kate reemerged from the shadows. She returned from summer break to sit in on Prince William’s visit to the Natural History Museum. This engagement marks a notable return on her royal engagements. Coincidentally, on that same day, both she and Prince William’s children—George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7—returned to school.

While it was a summer of rejuvenation, Kate faced some tough challenges too. In March 2024, she revealed her cancer diagnosis and documented her fight through chemotherapy as she fought the disease. In January, Collins shared the news with fans that her cancer is in remission. This wonderful news has probably showered her and her family with relief.

The family at the moment are living in Adelaide Cottage, a four-bedroom home on the Windsor Castle estate. They’re making the move to Forest Lodge later this year. They are running out of space in their current six-bedroom house and this estate-owned eight-bedroom property will afford their growing kids room to thrive.

Towards the end of August, photographers spotted Kate in a vehicle making her way to church. Her natural hairdo became very prominent to the eyes. This unexpected cameo served to foreshadow her willingness to come back and rejoin the world after her own summer vacation.
