Kenny Chesney Makes History as First Country Artist to Headline Las Vegas Sphere

Kenny Chesney is already making country music history by becoming the first country artist to headline the iconic Las Vegas Sphere. The highly anticipated residency commenced with a spectacular opening night on Friday, and it runs through mid-June, offering fans an unforgettable experience. The Las Vegas Sphere’s mammoth wraparound LED screen delivers sights to the eye and appraising, stunning 4-D immersive effects. With a seating capacity of 17,600, it is the ideal location for game-changing events.

Chesney started his show by performing “Beer in Mexico” first. With colorful animations of sugar skulls and dancing beer bottles, the opener dazzled the audience and created a colorful, energetic start to the evening. His setlist was a great balance of unavoidable classics and deep cuts that are still beloved fan favorites. It featured “One Lonely Island” and “Seven Days” which had never before been performed live.

After the show, Chesney posted a carousel of photos on Instagram. These photographs brought the thrill and passion of opening night right to us. His thankfulness transcended words, flooding his posts as he thanked not only the Sphere staff but everyone who made the program possible.

“It was so magical and even more emotional for me and my road family,” – Kenny Chesney

He gave a heartfelt thanks out to Kelsea Ballerini, who helped to surprise him on stage during the opening night with a performance. The presence of Ballerini — a native of nearby Knoxville, TN — added an even more special touch to the jubilation.

“Thanks to the whole Sphere team and a very special thanks to my friend from Knoxville, TN @KelseaBallerini for such a great surprise on our first night,” – Kenny Chesney

Chesney’s residency looks set to provide the most light-hearted form of KT that walks you through his greatest hits from yesteryear and from 2020 and beyond. He remarked on social media that “Nothing can prepare you for your first night at Sphere in Vegas,” emphasizing the extraordinary nature of the venue and its atmosphere.

As the residency continues, scarce tickets are still available for those fans who want to experience this historic event first-hand. Kenny Chesney raises the bar for what a concert can be every time he hits the stage. He promises to deliver the most jaw-dropping, must-see at the Las Vegas Sphere experience imaginable to all attendees.
