KFC Revamps Menu with New Offerings and Free Chicken Promotion

KFC, the iconic fried chicken joint headquartered in Louisville, has made some big new menu moves recently. As an extra incentive to attract customers, they are further sweetening the deal with a great limited-time offer. After all, the man who created Kentucky Fried Chicken — Colonel Sanders — is what could be considered the original “chefpreneur.” These days, KFC is the biggest player in the growing crispy chicken segment, which is increasingly competitive.

Beginning this week, KFC customers can receive a free bucket of KFC’s world famous Original Recipe® classic fried chicken or Original Recipe® tenders. Simply make a $15 purchase on the KFC app or website to receive your reward! This new promotion is a continuation of KFC’s strategy to try to win back lost market share and better connect with their consumers.

Further to add mileage to this promotion, KFC has simultaneously launched its new $7 Fill Ups value meal. This meal presents customers with four combination options: three-piece tenders, one-piece fried chicken, two-piece fried chicken, or the Famous Bowl. Each meal comes with mashed potatoes with gravy, a biscuit, pie poppers and a medium drink. The eclectic mix definitely means there’s something for everyone. This playbook prevents KFC from becoming stale, ensuring they remain a go-to brand for fried chicken enthusiasts.

New Menu Items

Along with the much-loved Fill Ups with value meal, KFC has introduced dill pickle slices fried to a delicious, golden brown. KFC has these beauties dipped in their signature Comeback Sauce or ranch. This gives a creative spin to classic fried chicken accompaniments! This new addition will not only appeal to first-time diners but returning customers as well, creating a better overall dining experience.

KFC’s executive, Catherine Tan-Gillespie, expressed her enthusiasm for these new offerings and their potential impact on the brand’s market presence.

“We’re so confident with the strides that we’ve been making on our menu with our launch of Original Recipe tenders — that we’re giving this offer away where all Americans can get a free bucket on us,” – Catherine Tan-Gillespie

Market Competitiveness

The crispy chicken category continues to experience explosive growth and increasing competition from numerous other brands. Tan-Gillespie admitted to this competitive scenery and desire for KFC to bolster its market presence.

“Most incumbent brands and legacy brands, sometimes we lose some ground — so now is the time to come back,” – Catherine Tan-Gillespie

She stressed that KFC is unapologetic about doing what it takes to retake its competitive advantage.

“So this is to say we’re serious about being back in the game. The Colonel’s not going to be smiling until our customers are,” – Catherine Tan-Gillespie

Looking Ahead

KFC wants to ensure that it remains at the top of the fast food industry. At the same time, Tan-Gillespie is working to lift the brand’s profile even further. She commented on how excited she is to get KFC back at the center of fried chicken lovers’ choices.

“I’m incredibly passionate about getting the brand back to its rightful place on the fried chicken podium,” – Catherine Tan-Gillespie
