Reality stars Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, are finding out what life looks like after prison. We celebrated with them as they walked out of prison May 28th. The pair rocketed to reality TV superstardom with “Chrisley Knows Best.” In November 2022, they received their sentences for wire fraud and tax evasion. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, after which he must serve 16 months of probation. Julie was handed a seven-year prison term, followed by the same 16 months of probation. Prosecutors called their scheme a “fifteen-year fraud spree.” Due to that bait and switch, they are now on the hook for an outrageous $17.8 million restitution order.
The Chrisleys became reality stars through their now decade-long run on USA’s “Chrisley Knows Best.” This docuseries gives us unprecedented access to their tumultuous family life and outrageous business pursuits. The show features not only Todd and Julie but their children: Chase, Savannah, Grayson, and Julie’s granddaughter, Chloe, whom they primarily care for. The family originally gained notoriety as the poster family for the emerging southern reality television genre, hooking audiences with their family structure and exaggerated mannerisms.
After their release, Todd and Julie have made it clear that they plan to return to the world of reality television. A new show is set to premiere on Lifetime later this year, promising fans an inside look at their lives post-incarceration. Our popular series WHERE ARE THEY NOW? provides the newlyweds a chance to speak candidly about their experience. They’ll be sharing their stories and experiences and exploring the challenges of reentering society after incarceration.
Savannah Chrisley, the couple’s daughter, has been vocal about her family’s situation, even appealing to the Trump administration for pardons for her parents during their incarceration. She would steal the show at the 2024 Republican National Convention. There, she became a passionate advocate for criminal justice reform, an issue that personally and deeply affected her own family. Todd and Julie focus on justice reform Todd and Julie Conklin. They want to use their platform to amplify the voices of those on the frontlines combating these systemic issues within the criminal justice system.
As the Chrisleys make their way back into public life, they’re dealing with the added layer of celebrity family drama. Todd had two kids from his first marriage, Kyle and Lindsie Chrisley, in addition to Todd and Julie’s two sons. Grayson and Chase will no doubt lead on behalf of the family in their future philanthropic pursuits. The couple’s devotion to ensuring Chloe grows up healthy and happy speaks volumes about their commitment to family values—even in the face of adversity.
