>Nashville native Conner Smith lost his life in a horrific car accident on June 8th. The crash unfortunately took the life of the local woman, 32-year-old Kalu Dobbins. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. while Dobbins was inside a marked crosswalk near her home. She was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where, tragically, she died from her injuries.
After the incident, Smith was discharged on site. Authorities reported that preliminary findings indicated Smith may have failed to yield the right of way to Dobbins, contributing to the fatal incident.
“It appears that she was inside a marked crosswalk when she was struck around 7:30 p.m.,” a police spokesperson said. As the investigation continues, Smith is continuing to fully cooperate with law enforcement.
Smith also recently performed at CMA Fest in Downtown Nashville June 5-8th. Peters has issued heartfelt regret for the state of affairs. His attorney, Worrick G. Robinson, released a statement on Smith’s behalf to “Good Morning America” expressing his condolences.
