Wendy Osefo, frequent cast member of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” resigns from Wesleyan University. This announcement follows her recent arrest on a litany of fraud charges. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office—located in Osefo and her spouse, Edward Osefo’s, home state of Maryland—arrested the Osefos. They purportedly filed false and misleading documents with the police in connection with stolen property.
Osefo at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA on March 29. Just a day later, the couple was in handcuffs. Local press reports claimed they were in class on October 8, the day prior to their arrest. After their detention, both Wendy and Edward were able to post bond and were released the next Friday.
An article released by Wesleyan University confirmed the news of Osefo’s departure. The university insisted that she was not fired from her position. Rather, she provided her letter of resignation well in advance of a public announcement.

This recent slate of allegations against Osefo and her husband is especially concerning, as it includes dozens of fraud-related charges. They allegedly made fabricated police reports in April saying they had belongings stolen from their residence while on vacation. Their legal troubles coincide with the planned premiere of “RHOPWife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition,” which has been postponed from October 14 to October 21 due to these developments.
