Will Reeve, who recently starred on the big screen as a super guy in the new James Gunn “Superman” movie. The TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles hosted the film’s premiere on July 7, 2025. The 33-year-old son of the late actor Christopher Reeve confided that his cameo appearance helped him feel “a lot more at home” during the electric experience. It was only through this opportunity that he was able to connect deeply with his father’s legacy.

Christopher Reeve famously portrayed the title character in the original 1978 “Superman” and reprised his role in three sequels: “Superman II” (1980), “Superman III” (1983), and “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace” (1987). During the premiere, James Gunn expressed gratitude towards the cast and crew before the screening, specifically acknowledging Will Reeve’s involvement. This recognition added to the emotional weight of the evening for Reeve, who remarked, “I do have a connection to this character, this franchise and movie through my dad. He defined the role for so many people for so many years.”

Reeve followed in his father’s footsteps on the red carpet, wearing a family heirloom that honored his father’s memory. He revealed, “I had an homage to him that I didn’t tell anyone about: I was wearing his cuff links.” This personal touch made the moment all the more special, as you could see how much this meant to him.

The upcoming “Superman” movie features David Corenswet in the title role. Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Will Reeve’s participation in the film signifies a continuation of his family’s connection to the beloved superhero franchise.

Reflecting on his experience, Will Reeve stated, “It was just really fun, everyone was incredibly welcoming and excited about this new movie. I was just glad to be literally a tiny part of it.” Even though we all had to admit the man is not a professional actor, he told us all how much he respected the craft. “I am no actor. I have immense respect for those who do that professionally, because it is difficult and challenging,” he explained.
