Danone U.S. recently issued a voluntary recall of seventeen assorted YoCrunch products after discovering plastic contamination in their products. The recall affects yogurt cups that come in two adjoining containers: one filled with yogurt and the other containing a separately sealed topper with various add-ins, including popular items like Oreo pieces, mini M&M’s candies, Snickers, and Twix.
The company recalled the items after receiving 11 reports of plastic pieces in the dome toppers. These particles, which are as small as 7 mm and up to 25 mm in length, are a potential choking hazard to consumers. Danone U.S. stated, “We take every consumer experience seriously and are issuing this voluntary recall in line with Danone’s commitment to product quality and consumer safety.” While these leaks may seem like a small issue, they’ve actually led to a widespread design flaw that affects transportation of the yogurt.
Customers that have bought the impacted YoCrunch products are strongly encouraged to not eat them. Instead, consumers are advised to call Danone’s consumer care line at 344-4886 for additional support. You can call the line, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. They have information about how to get your money refunded and can assist with any questions related to the recall.
Danone U.S. is taking steps to make sure the affected products get off retail shelves as soon as possible. The company is dedicated to addressing the contamination issue directly. They’re working to re-introduce fan-favorite YoCrunch products as soon as they’re able.
