Central Perk Coffeehouse Set to Open in Times Square

The beloved Central Perk Coffeehouse, inspired by the iconic television show “Friends,” is preparing to open its doors in New York City’s bustling Times Square. With an outlet already opened in Boston, the new café is expected to open its doors in late fall 2025. This new performance space is a model for future co-creative hybrid partnerships, like that of Central Perk Coffeehouse and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Central Perk Coffeehouse has become iconic for being the headquarters for the characters of “Friends.” After all, countless memorable moments unfolded inside those walls during the series’ ten-season run. The future Times Square home hopes to continue that unique spirit and tradition, while bringing a fresh approach to today’s travelers.

Paul Landino, SVP with CenPer Holdings, shared his excitement on the move into the New York City expansion. He stated, “When we launched the first Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston, our goal was always to expand to New York City, a place where fans and friends alike could create their own stories in the city where the series was set.”

Three years later, on September 16, 2025, they unveiled their new home. It was an exhilarating homecoming to the city that birthed the first series of …! This new permanent establishment will be a colorful, exciting gathering place for residents and visitors. It will tempt you, too, to step back into the memory lane created by the world of “Friends.”

The café aims to provide a modern experience of the classic Central Perk, but still keep the key elements that made it stand out. According to a release from the company, “While refreshed for today’s guest, the unmistakable spirit of Central Perk lives on — delivering a memorable coffee and dining experience for both locals and visitors.”

Visitors can look forward to some of the best coffee in the world, but fantastic food to match the vibrant energy of this café. The venue seeks to be an internationally renowned destination where once-in-a-lifetime experiences are created and shared.
