Superfoods Inc., which does business as Live It Up, is recalling the product in a voluntary recall. The recall includes its Live It Up Super Greens dietary supplement powder due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recall, which impacts both Original and Wild Berry flavors of the product, comes after reports of serious illness associated with the dietary supplement.
The recall, first announced this past Thursday, did not specify a date. The toxic products were sold across the country both through Live It Up’s direct-to-consumer website and on Amazon. The items carry long expiration dates ranging from August 2026 to January 2028. Their products come in many different package sizes including 8.47 oz (240g), 8.5 oz (240g) and 9.52 oz (270g). The affected products bear UPC codes: 850077468063, 860013190811, and 850077468070.
Illnesses linked to Live It Up Super Greens started between August 22, 2025, and December 30, 2025. According to the CDC, 45 people have gotten sick from the product, with 12 needing to be hospitalized. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have been closely monitoring this outbreak. To date, it has reached people in 22 states, from Alabama to Connecticut to Delaware.
Those are just preliminary findings from interviews with consumers and they’re all looking really exciting! Sixteen of twenty participants indicated they had utilized the Live It Up Super Greens supplement powders. This calls into serious question the safety of their product, as well as the distribution of it.
Superfoods Inc. emphasized that “no other Live It Up products are involved in this recall at this time.” The company further stated that their operations “have been suspended while FDA and the company continue their investigation as to the source of the problem.”
In a statement addressing the issue, Superfoods Inc. expressed its commitment to food safety. “Live It Up takes food safety extremely seriously. We apologize for the inconvenience and concern this recall may cause our customers. Our company is committed to ensuring the quality of our products and the well-being of our consumers.”
The FDA has advised consumers to “carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that the product touched.” They’re working to figure out whether or not more recalls should be issued as investigations into crashes continue. Check back for updates as additional details come into focus.
For the larger packages, look for lot codes beginning with the letter “A”. For the impacted “stick pack” products, the lot codes start with the number three. We advise consumers to stop using their stock immediately. If they discover any Live It Up Super Greens products that correspond with these identifiers, they should stop using them immediately.
