Martyn’s life took a sudden turn at the end of December 2025 when he suffered a cardiac event and eventually was admitted to the hospital. The ex-international cricketer, praised for his poise and dexterity on the field, was in hot water. So, with “balls to the wall” tenacity, he fought through meningitis. He spent eight days in an induced coma — the only way to allow his body to dig itself out of this serious infection.
When she finally came out of the coma, she wasn’t able to walk or talk. His focus to overcome was evident when, only four days later, he started to walk and talk again. Shortly after, he went home, proud to say that during his long recovery, people supported him and fought for others.
