They confiscated a whopping 253 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $82 million. This significant operation took place late last month in May 2025, during a routine cargo screening at the Port of Brisbane. The cocaine was discovered concealed within a shipping container that was reportedly transporting bags of packing plastic.
A crucial tip-off led investigators to the shipping container. This resulted in an enforcement action under the rubric of business as usual cargo screening standard operating procedure. On further examination, officials found five carry bags within the container that had tested positive for cocaine.
