SBS Expands Accessibility with New Daily News Wraps

SBS has been a leader in developing world-first news innovations. These programs are intended to improve educational opportunities for ELs and SWD. The group has since launched a new, daily five-minute news wrap designed specifically for those audiences. This helps to make sure that important information is readily available and clearly laid out in an easy to understand way.

SBS understands the value and need for delivering short-form, easily digestible news content. The newly minted five minute wrap is a quick, personal, and ready-to-go hit of the best headlines and top stories. This collaborative effort requires teachers to use evidence-based approaches for expanding the vocabulary of English learners. Simultaneously, it informs people with disabilities to what’s happening in the world.

Aside from the daily news wrap, SBS has ramped up its podcasting. Each one of these podcasts dives into a different topic, immersing listeners in news stories that connect with their passions. The accessibility of on-demand audio content gives room for all sorts of interests, topics, and niche audiences, delivering information when it best works for them.

SBS understood that the demand for financial literacy is at an all-time high among the public. Recognizing this need, they’ve added a finance and business news ten-minute wrap. Hosted by SBS’s Finance Editor, Ricardo Gonçalves. In addition, he gives us a crash course on positive market trends, economic developments, and other major financial happenings each time. Through this new podcast, Gonçalves will leverage his experience to simplify financial issues for the everyday listener.

Our finance and business news wrap is the best place to get that data. It encourages audiences to take action and become better stewards of their fiscal health. SBS provides this service to help fill the knowledge gap that exists around finance and business basics. In doing so, they raise the level of financial literacy across underrepresented communities.

SBS’s dedication to accessibility and inclusivity shines through in these new offerings. The organization kept the needs of its varied audiences at the forefront. It provides guaranteed equitable access to accurate and essential news and information. Through their international broadcasting SBS sets a high water mark for responsible, ethical broadcasting. They provide customized content for ELLs, people with disabilities, and other audiences.
