SBS Launches Daily News Wraps for English Learners and People with Disabilities

SBS just launched a new daily podcast series for English Learners & People with Disabilities, with accessible full-text SBS podcast news episodes. The new initiative includes a five-minute daily news wrap “News in English,” meant to break down barriers to news coverage. This podcast is just one example of SBS’s long-standing commitment to providing inclusive content that reflects and connects with diverse communities.

Their “News in English” podcast provides daily news briefings in under five minutes. We think it’s ideal for American Public Media’s business listeners who love succinct news digests! The initiative is designed to help more people become proficient in English by supplying digestible, easy-to-read news articles. Plus, it trains people with disabilities, helping to make news content in all forms accessible to everyone.

Alongside “News in English,” SBS additionally produces a ten-minute finance–business podcast called “On the Money.” SBS Finance Editor Ricardo Gonçalves, moderator Each week, he provides critical insights on financial markets and business trends to keep his listeners ahead of the curve. “On the Money” is designed to ensure that they’re the best-informed people on their economic landscape, in a way that’s accessible and engaging.

SBS provides a variety of news podcasts covering multiple topics, allowing listeners to choose content that aligns with their interests. The podcasts are released on every major podcast platform, allowing people to get the most up-to-date information in the most convenient way possible. For anyone who would like to learn further SBS’s podcast offerings, a SBS News Podcasts page has been created with links to programs and episodes.

The accessibility of these podcasts, a passion project for SBS, showcases their dedication to serving an inclusive and educated public. By meeting the needs of English learners and those with disabilities, SBS helps benefit everyone and makes sure that news information in times of crisis is accessible to all. Our “News in English” podcast is easily identifiable by its colorful cover art, which is located here. The “On the Money” podcast, which is just as popular with its own distinct graphic, seen here.
