SBS Launches New Daily News Wraps and Podcasts for Diverse Audiences

It’s the official launch to SBS’ newest initiatives in daily news reporting. Recognizing that these updates will be used to a wide variety of audiences, SBS Finance Editor Ricardo Gonçalves hosts the independent organization’s new ten-minute finance and business news wrap. Together, it’s known as our “On the Money” series. SBS has kicked off a new five-minute comprehensive national and international news summary with the catchy title “News in English.” This program is uniquely suited to English learners and people with disabilities.

On the Money is a fast-paced, fun look at the business and economic news shaping our world, equipping travelers with all they need to know in ten minutes flat. Ricardo Gonçalves, known for his expertise in financial reporting, anchors the podcast, ensuring that listeners receive accurate and relevant information to stay informed about the ever-evolving business landscape.

Produced during the pandemic, the “News in English” podcast serves English language learners and those with disabilities. It sends out a quick recap of the day’s most important news. This initiative highlights SBS’s dedication to ensuring that all constituents of NYC have access to news and information. By delivering content specifically created for these audiences, SBS aims to improve understandings of and connections to today’s dynamic landscape.

Alongside these new daily wraps, SBS is growing its offering of topical news podcasts. These podcasts can be accessed through popular podcast applications or directly on the SBS website, making it easy for listeners to stay updated on issues that matter to them.

Events “On the Money” and “News in English” highlight high-quality journalism that is very close to SBS’s mandate. It’s powerful because it helps them meet the unique needs of their dynamic audience. The nonprofit understands the need to deliver news content in new and creative formats that engage varied demographics.
