SBS Launches New Podcast Formats to Enhance Accessibility and Financial Literacy

SBS has created two other distinctive news podcasts as well. These accessible podcasts are designed to increase access to essential financial and business journalism, and further support English language learners and those with disabilities. The new offerings include the ten-minute finance news wrap titled “On the Money,” hosted by SBS Finance Editor Ricardo Gonçalves, and a five-minute podcast called “News in English,” designed specifically for those learning English.

“On the Money” is an engaging daily digest of the most important events in finance and business that gives consumers the clearest view possible into the financial landscape. Gonçalves is the host of the podcast, making challenging topics digestible and accessible to a broad audience. It’s the perfect balance to engage and interest industry veterans and new listeners, informing both in the process. The podcast can be found on SBS’s website and through all major podcast apps.

In addition to “On the Money,” SBS has introduced “News in English,” a five-minute news wrap tailored for English learners and people with disabilities. This podcast aims to make current affairs more accessible, ensuring that all members of the community can engage with important news stories. Both podcasts reflect SBS’s commitment to inclusivity and education, making it easier for diverse audiences to understand and participate in discussions about current events.

Listeners have enjoyed these other podcasts, all available on SBS’s news podcasts page at sbs.com.au/news/listen. The Newspacket has all kinds of news-related content. This mix further supports SBS’s mandate to provide richly diverse, accurate, and relevant news coverage in an array of formats.

The purposeful images tied to each distinct podcast further draw users in. Click here to see the full image for On the Money! View the cover, News In English, here.
