SBS Launches New Podcast Offerings to Cater to Diverse Audiences

In the COVID-era, SBS greatly increased its digital services. They’ve recently launched two new podcasts that provide high quality, easily digestible news content tailored to a variety of audiences. SBS Finance Editor Ricardo Gonçalves hosts a daily ten-minute wrap of finance and business news. Their weekly public radio show, “On the Money.” Our network has recently started producing a five-minute podcast to accompany the series, which we’re calling “News in English.” This program is especially intended for English language learners & people with disabilities.

Smart, engaging and to the point, “On the Money” is a one-stop resource for what’s happening on the financial markets, economy and business front. Each episode is a quick ten minutes. This new format allows us to engage listeners on key finance-related issues without requiring a significant time commitment. Under the leadership of Ricardo Gonçalves, a veteran finance reporter, the podcast has used his experience to create something both valuable and fun.

Their “News in English” podcast is a good example of a more simplified news format. It’s great for anyone who finds it difficult to follow traditional television news. This nonpartisan five-minute wrap will help you get up to speed and keep you informed in plain English. It’s English learner and disability friendly as well. By customizing content this way, SBS hopes to foster a more inclusive and accessible environment for individuals to consume news.

SBS has placed both podcasts prominently on their website, alongside an ever-growing array of other local and international news podcasts. Find your gateway to these and more resources at SBS News Podcasts. The site offers a full range of SBS News podcasts to suit every audience and their podcast requirements. These podcasts are available on all major podcast apps, giving users the flexibility in listening wherever they want.

The introduction of “On the Money” and “News in English” reflects SBS’s commitment to providing relevant news content that meets the needs of different audience segments. SBS is strengthening its place as Australia’s most trusted and transparent source of all Australians’ information. It accomplishes this greatly by providing podcasts specialized for the finance connoisseur as well as easily digestible news coverage.
