New Housing Development Promises Modern Living at New Park Village Estate

Whether or not this happens, the New Park Village estate is already set to improve the local community. It will bring in additional council homes to rent, including two, three, and four-bedroom properties. This transformative redevelopment project will not only offer new affordable housing options, but will reshape and revitalize the built environment around it. The initiative will showcase expanded EV-ready car parking and enhanced public open spaces at its core.

The New Park Village estate redevelopment will replace an area that previously had worn-out 1960s maisonettes. Keon Homes will demolish the 205 old units and build 188 sustainable, energy-efficient properties. The project will unfold in phases over several years, minimizing disruption to current residents while ensuring a smooth transition to the new community.

The initial stage of the £40 million project will deliver 98 new homes. In the following round, developers will build 83 more homes. In addition to accommodating a range of family sizes, the development includes seven wheelchair-accessible council bungalows on Longford Road, which are expected to be completed by spring 2026. Detailed underground surveys and a powerful effort to engage with utility companies is ongoing to enable this major redevelopment to take root.

The enabling works for this New Park Village estate goes under the name of indicative layout enabling works are due to begin later this year. This paves the way for real construction to start — projected for spring 2026. The thoughtful planning and creation of the project highlight the innovation that can result from making community needs a priority in city-making.
