Adam Reynolds to Retire After NRL Season Marking a Historic Career

Adam Reynolds, the noted professional rugby league talent, declared his retirement from the professional football age 36. He is set to retire at the end of the present NRL season. His contributions and impact will long be felt within the sport. Reynolds has long been one of the most influential players in Australian rugby league, a commanding presence with his left-footed boots both in defense and in attack.

Reynolds joined the Brisbane Broncos with a clear objective: to break a premiership drought that had persisted since 2006. Then in 2025, he led the squad to championship victory and fulfilled his ambition. This victory earned him a place in his club’s history. His signing is being celebrated by fans as one of the most important in the club’s recent history. Everyone’s there judging it against Glenn Lazarus’s spectacular arrival in 1992.

At the end of his career Reynolds will have played 309 NRL games, a testament to his great consistency and toughness. He began his professional career at the South Sydney Rabbitohs. As captain of the Rabbitohs and with Maguire coaching, he’d have his first premiership win celebrated in 2014. In 2015, he coached the Rabbitohs to victory in the World Club Challenge. This decisive victory only further established his claim as the world’s best player.

Representing New South Wales in the annual State of Origin series against Queensland, Reynolds played twice for his state in 2016. His experience and expertise have proven invaluable to younger players on the Broncos roster, including Ezra Mam, Reece Walsh, and Kotoni Staggs. He provided these emerging talents with the space and freedom necessary to develop their skills, ensuring a bright future for the club.

Reynolds’ leadership has played an integral role in developing that Broncos team culture and underdog spirit. Now fit and raring to go, he will once again be setting the example as he gets ready to help fire the Broncos against Hull KR later this month. He’s looking for one more title before retiring his boots for good.

From the back streets of Redfern to the NRL success story, Reynolds’ path through the sport is painted with determination and persistence. His responsibility to the sport and to his teams has made him a respected figure among fans and his contemporaries. As Reynolds gets ready for retirement, he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire people for years to come.
