Adelaide Dominates North in Thrilling Match to Secure Minor Premiership

The Adelaide Crows proved just what extraordinary talent they are in a thriller of a battle. With that win against the North Melbourne Kangaroos, they ensured their position at the top of the AFL ranking system. This match, played on Saturday, saw Adelaide, ranked first, demonstrate their class against a struggling North side, which finished the season ranked 16th.

Adelaide came out on fire, building a solid lead right away and holding onto it for the entire match. They got out in front early and never surrendered the lead at each change. In that last quarter, they ballooned their lead to an eye popping 37 points. Luckily for the Crows, Peatling’s high ball game plan was working a treat, with the forward converging on the loose ball, scoring three game changing goals. To supplement this one-two punch, Riley Thilthorpe and Ben Keays were instrumental on the scoreboard, each kicking three goals of their own. Newcomer Billy Dowling didn’t waste time making his mark, scoring twice in his first game of the year.

North Melbourne displayed moments of brilliance, particularly when they scored four goals within just six minutes, showcasing their ability to respond under pressure. Paul Curtis proved to be the spearhead in this attacking blitz, bagging three goals to help lead his side to victory. Luke Davies-Uniacke was a real highlight for North, despite their defeat, collecting 31 disposals and 12 clearances. On the opposite wing, Harry Sheezel was a star, finishing with 32 disposals and six clearances. Tristan Xerri helped turn the midfield battle with 25 disposals and seven clearances.

Yet even with these adjustments, North was unable to stay ahead of Adelaide. An absolute belter from Cooper Trembath that sparked a whole lot of discussion and argument among fans and analysts. Though controversial, the goal did not alter the result of the match. Luke Parker didn’t let up, making his presence felt all match for North, but Adelaide’s 38-point H/A win was emphatic, showing their class across the board.
