Having died from prostate cancer 30 years ago, E.J. Whitten is still a revered figure in Australian Rules Football. His legacy continues to be an inspiration to the players and fans. For as long as this game exists, it’ll be a testament to his influence on the game.
Running the show for Victoria will be Luke Hodge, Hawthorn legend and current 7AFL expert commentator. He brings a wealth of experience to his role as captain, while Tim Watson, an AFL great and former 7NEWS Melbourne sport presenter, will serve as the team’s coach. On the pitch, under their leadership, the Victorian side will be looking to prove their worth in what should be an exciting and highly competitive match.
Nick Riewoldt, an All-Australian captain and St Kilda legend, will coach the All Stars. He is additionally a chief expert commentator for 7AFL. He’ll be mentored in the process by Shane Crawford, another celebrated Hawthorn icon and regular host of Seven’s House of Wellness.
