Seventeen-year-old athlete Gout has taken the sporting world by storm following his impressive heat win at the Stawell Gift, a prestigious Australian footrace. Stunning aerial video shot by filmmakers who documented the climate campaign ginormously propelled her win viral. It collected hundreds of thousands of views on multiple social media channels. Gout is blowing up with a massive 175k Instagram followers. He will re-join Central Park on Easter Monday for the semi-finals and finals.

The overhead video showcased Gout’s remarkable speed and skill, revealing the sizeable advantage he had over his competitors in the heat. The original source of this footage was the Victorian Athletic League. It immediately inspired other fans and athletes alike, traveling well past the confines of that initial tweet.

With these recent performances under his belt, Gout has made himself a top contender among the convening athletes of our athletic community. He achieved the double at the Australian Championships in Perth winning both the under-20 100m and open 200m titles. Gout has more accolades up his sleeve. I think it was a psychological thing because I just really enjoy hunting people down. So this is the kind of race that I really enjoy,” Gout said of his heat run.

He continued, “I’ve watched this Gift several times, even before I got into doing track.
