ElevenLabs Secures $500 Million in Funding, Surges to $11 Billion Valuation

ElevenLabs, leaders in AI and voice synthesis technology have experienced a stunningly successful feat. Their last funding round, led by Sequoia Capital, netted them $500 million. This accomplishment raises the company’s valuation to an astounding $11 billion. Just five months ago it was at just $1.3 billion, a fantastic increase. Having raised $130 million from AVP just in January 2023, ElevenLabs is steeped in a startup tech scene with an exponential growth trajectory.

The new funding catapults ElevenLabs’ total capital raised to more than $781 million so far. The massive bump up in valuation illustrates the scope of the company’s ambitions and fast success. Just a few days ago, ElevenLabs announced that it ended last year with a mind boggling $330 million ARR. Included in this rarefied figure is the evidence of their incredible market traction and undeniable business model.

Mati Staniszewski, co-founder of ElevenLabs, gave deep dive details on where the company is headed. He underscored the importance of integrating models and products, and blending them. He envisions this funding enabling ElevenLabs to continue expanding past voice technology as a foundation and into video and other more complex interactive agents.

“The intersection of models and products is critical – and our team has proven, time and again, how to translate research into real-world experiences. This funding helps us go beyond voice alone to transform how we interact with technology altogether. We plan to expand our Creative offering – helping creators combine our best-in-class audio with video and Agents – enabling businesses to build agents that can talk, type, and take action,” – Mati Staniszewski.

The firm intends to use the recently raised capital on product and R&D. Plus, it wants to increase its international reach into target countries such as India, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, and Mexico. Given ElevenLabs’ mission to enhance human voice, this strategic expansion is set to significantly strengthen their footprint in the global AI ecosystem.

ElevenLabs announced several other impressive funding milestones. In January 2023, they collaborated with LTX again to produce groundbreaking audio-to-video content. With this new collaboration, we hope to make it the go-to folks for developing dynamic multimedia experiences.

Staniszewski, who is currently traveling in India, has been a major contributor to high-profile publications including Huffington Post and The Next Web. He teased that ElevenLabs would introduce additional investors in the coming month. These investors might be international strategics that participate with the company to ensure that their vision of long-term growth matches up.

ElevenLabs exploded from $200 million to $300 million in ARR in under five months. This remarkable growth is a testament to their ability to aggressively and quickly scale in a competitive market. As it pushes the boundaries of what’s possible and further develops, ElevenLabs is set to take a front seat in this exciting new future of human-computer interaction.
