To make advertising more effective, Google has announced a range of new, AI-powered marketing tools in a bid to support Indian marketers. That announcement was made during the company’s hometown edition of Marketing Live. Also announced were new artificial intelligence capabilities in Google Ads and Google Analytics that are designed to cut through the clutter of marketing. This move comes after the Indian government repealed a planned 6% tax on digital ads. The repeal went into effect this past April, 2023.
At the center of these new offerings is Google’s “Generated for You” tool, built into Product Studio. This new powerful feature finds relevant content opportunities across shopping catalogs, so merchants can efficiently create tailored advertisements. The tool has the capacity to pre-generate AI images and videos. Then you can quickly save or publish them on all the different Google platforms.

Further, net advertising revenue increased by 18% to ₹27.43 billion ($320 million) over the same quarter last year. This consistent growth emphasizes India’s importance as an increasingly vital market within Google’s advertising empire.
Furthermore, Google has introduced state-level urban and rural audience filters for Indian advertisers, enabling more granular media planning, buying, and reporting. These types of improvements give advertisers better tools to reach their audiences more precisely with their preferred demographics.
“These agentic tools can learn from advertising inputs, including datasets, landing pages, assets, and real-time campaign performance, to take the guesswork out of achieving business goals,” said Dan Taylor, Vice President for Global Ads at Google. This technology aims to simplify the advertising process and optimize campaign performance for businesses of all sizes.
India’s digital advertising juggernaut is off to the races! It’s expected to exceed $7 billion by the end of 2025, with growth rates exceeding 20% annually. Together, these new innovations and the regulatory environment have Google primed to take advantage of this growing market.
