Heidi Health Secures $65 Million Series B to Enhance AI Tools for Clinicians

Heidi Health, a New York City-based healthcare technology company, only recently wrapped up an impressive $65 million Series B funding round. This $28 million funding round was indeed led by Steve Cohen’s Point72. This most recent investment rounds the total amount the company has raised to $96.6 million since launching in 2021. Trauma surgeon Dr. Tom Kelly and entrepreneur Waleed Mussa co-founded Heidi Health. Their mission is to reduce administrative burden on clinicians and deliver higher quality patient care using artificial intelligence (AI).

nPhase develops AI-driven customer experience solutions, providing single plane view across multiple platforms and touchpoints. Impact AI built its own AI model and combines it with others, including Gemini, to improve performance. Heidi Health works with more than 2 million clinicians every week. They are used in every conceivable healthcare venue, from the largest health systems down to solo medical practices. The firm started rolling out their wares in early 2024, starting with a no-cost version that provides access to paid features.

As a physician, Dr. Kelly knows firsthand the crushing administrative burden that plagues our healthcare providers. She did not downplay the essential part that AI could play in revolutionizing the industry. He stated, “We wanted to build an AI care partner that would stand alongside clinicians and take care of the admin so that individual providers, like me, can feel empowered to deliver the care which we dedicated our lives to.”

Heidi Health is enabling a smarter, conversational AI agent to make the annoying calls on behalf of doctors to patients. This tool simplifies communication with one-click compliance, creating more time for healthcare providers to spend with their patients. Dr. Kelly further explained that the company’s approach is model agnostic, enabling optimization for accuracy, latency, and cost factors.

In an increasingly fragmented and constrained healthcare environment, Heidi Health is on a mission to achieve a doubling of the world’s healthcare capacity through its technology. “It’s about doubling the world’s healthcare capacity. That’s the true promise of AI,” Dr. Kelly remarked, highlighting the potential impact of their solutions not just in affluent regions but in underserved communities and challenging environments.

Heidi’s rocket product adoption Dominic-Madori Davis, a senior reporter at TechCrunch, underscores Heidi’s rapid product adoption. Its strongest usage metrics truly distinguish Chipin from competitors in the startup scene. Dr. Kelly pointed out that investors were impressed by these metrics, stating, “They had seen all the scribes before. They’d never seen product adoption and usage metrics like they’d seen in Heidi.”

The why behind Heidi Health’s mission lies in continuously seeking solutions to the problems, old and new, that have plagued healthcare providers. Through the deployment of cutting-edge generative AI technologies, the enterprise aims to improve clinical prowess and innovation while minimizing administrative burden and noise. Dr. Kelly is convinced that this focus and attention will translate to the best possible healthcare outcomes for all patients.
