Sora Achieves Rapid Success with Top Ranking on U.S. App Store

Sora, the new artificial intelligence social video application, is making the top ranked ascendency this week hitting No. 3 on the US App Store. It did all of that in mere days! The app launched with amazing success, gaining 56,000 downloads on its first day alone. For now, it’s still invite-only and only open to users in the U.S. and Canada. In fact, within just the first two days Sora recorded an astonishing 164,000 installs. This hard-earned recognition marks a huge victory for the creative platform.

The popular app launched with huge, eye-popping download numbers, capturing tons of initial attention. As a result, it has been equally remarkable in performance from any other major AI applications. Sora debunked the lofty launch numbers of heavy hitters like Anthropic’s Claude and Microsoft’s Copilot. Claude got a mere 21,000 downloads on its first day. It did go on to rank No. 19 in the App Store.

Sora’s success is unquestionably a testament to its compelling features and intuitive design, which have appealed strongly to early adopters. The app, still in an invite-only limited release phase. Its speedy adoption is a clear sign that there’s massive demand for tools to create AI-driven video content. Nearly 100,000 users of the app on launch day exceeded all of our expectations. It certainly lived up to the lofty expectations established by xAI’s Grok, which enjoyed a stellar market debut.
