Australia chased a target of 167 in 25.4 overs to beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in Brisbane on 9 October 2026, with opener Phoebe Litchfield scoring 77 from 57 deliveries.

The result put the hosts ahead 1-0 in the three-match ODI series and preserved their unbeaten record across 22 ODIs at Allan Border Field. Litchfield registered her 12th ODI half-century, while Annabel Sutherland ended the chase unbeaten on 26.

Sutherland was named player of the match after also claiming 4-30. Bangladesh were dismissed for 166, with Ritu Moni contributing 45 from 63 balls and captain Nigar Sultana making 29 from 86.

Megan Schutt took 2-19 across 10 overs, removing Fargana Hoque with the opening delivery before dismissing Sarmin Sultana for four to reach 150 ODI wickets. Cathryn Fitzpatrick, with 180, and Ellyse Perry, with 166, are the only Australians with higher wicket tallies in the format.

Stand-in captain Tahlia McGrath chose to bowl first. She is leading Australia while regular captain Sophie Molineux is injured. Allan Border Field will also host the remaining two matches of the series.
