CSIRO has named Luke Forsyth as its permanent chief information security officer, filling a vacancy left by Jamie Rossato's departure in February.

Forsyth has started at Australia's national science agency after previously working as a partner in Deloitte's cyber domain. Rossato left CSIRO for a CISO position at Orica after a little more than a year-and-a-half with the agency.

Tom Minchin covered the CISO position for eight months and has now resumed his role leading CSIRO's IT services.

In a LinkedIn post, Minchin said he had particularly enjoyed working alongside the cyber operations and cyber resilience teams during his acting appointment. He said he would continue supporting the agency's technology and cyber work.
