Mary Fowler out of Matildas friendlies, Leah Davidson called up
Football Australia says Fowler will miss the October international window for personal reasons, with Kyra Cooney-Cross also unavailable.

Mary Fowler will miss Australia’s friendlies against Germany and Haiti because of personal circumstances, Football Australia has confirmed. Charlton midfielder Leah Davidson has been selected to replace her for the October international window.
FA said the withdrawal followed talks involving Fowler, her club Manchester City and Matildas staff. Coach Joe Montemurro’s squad is also missing midfielder Kyra Cooney-Cross.
Fowler, 23, recently made her 100th Manchester City appearance, playing 28 minutes as a substitute in a 4-2 victory over Arsenal in the Women’s Super League. She also started against Real Madrid in the Champions League, playing 63 minutes as the teams drew 1-1.
Australia will face Germany in Karlsruhe and Haiti in Chambly, France, as part of its World Cup preparations. Germany are ranked No.3 in the world, while Haiti are No.47.
Davidson, 25, joined newly promoted Charlton from Melbourne City during the off-season. She has made four appearances for Australia and scored one goal.
