An incident in central Melbourne on 11 October 2026 prompted a response from police and paramedics, with Ambulance Victoria confirming one person was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics received the call shortly before 11am. Witnesses said they saw a car being driven erratically along Flinders Street and Elizabeth Street.

The incident occurred near the Melbourne marathon, where thousands of runners were following a course past the Swanston Street end of Flinders Street Station.

Elizabeth Street remained open, although a large number of police were still in the area.
